What does physiotherapy involve? â€‹

  • A friendly and non-judgemental conversation about your concerns and how they are affecting you and your playing. I will also ask about your general health and lifestyle.

  • Testing of your physical movement, strength, flexibility, confidence and analysis of your instrumental playing to determine what physical contributing factors are behind your concerns

  • Referral for diagnostic imaging if necessary.

  • A verbal or written plan where I will discuss what is wrong, how I can help you, how you can help yourself, how long it will take and and likely chances of improvement. I can also answer any questions you have.

  • Hands on treatment

  • Collaboration with others - such as your teacher

  • Follow up sessions

You will need to pay for the appointment using EFTPOS/CREDIT by entering card details at the time of booking. Your card will then be charged at the time of the appointment and an invoice emailed to you. You can claim health fund rebates yourself via health fund apps. If you have an approved workers compensation claim, you just need to cover the gap and I will claim directly from work cover. If your claim has not been approved yet you will need to pay in full.

I'm not sure if physiotherapy will help, what should I do?

Send me a brief emailing me detailing your issue and I will be able to advise further. Some hand problems are best dealt with by specialist hand therapists for example.
